Did you know that 36% of young adults feel extremely stressed on a regular basis? Did you also know that 13% of these young adults will self-harm or seriously consider suicide, instead of talking to a parent or teacher about their feelings? Call2Talk is a judgment-free program that is operated by United Way of Tri-County and is a member of American Association of Suicidology. Their volunteers are there to listen to those who may be afraid to talk to someone face to face. They are there to provide mental health and emotional support for people of all ages. It is a free service that is staffed by highly-trained volunteers that can help despondent and emotionally overwhelmed callers that feel as though there is no way out of their stress, sadness, and troubles. By donating to Call2Talk, you will be helping the program to provide training to community members, schools, and youth workers. You will also support their drive to increase social media outreach and recruitment for new volunteer call takers. I am running on behalf of Call2Talk for Team Framingham to let others know that they are not alone in their stresses and anxieties. We need to fight against the negative stigma that follows mental health and let those in need know there is someone that is always willing and able to speak with them and will listen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you, or know of anyone, that feels hopeless, please reach out to Call2Talk at (508)-532-2255 or text C2T to 741741. Thank you for you donations and time!
