Mark's Moving & Storage is honored to support the Pearl Street Cupboard & Café, a service of the United Way of Tri-County that helps provide food to local individuals and families.
The café recently relocated to 10 Pearl Street in Framingham, Mass., where it feeds more than 4,000 families representing more than 17,500 individuals. The café also provides more than 22,500 hot meals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
"The United Way is an exemplary organization and we're happy to support its efforts," said Mark E. Silverman, president and CEO of Mark's Moving. "We've been giving back to the community for nearly 40 years and will continue to help charities serve those in need."
Food insecurity is a problem within communities throughout Massachusetts. Ten percent of Greater Boston residents alone are at risk of hunger. In addition to supporting the United Way's food programs, Mark's Moving is a member of Move for Hunger, a national initiative to stock food pantries in local neighborhoods.
