Boston Scientific wins our Corporate 5K!

Boston Scientific Corporate 5K Team
The winning Boston Scientific running team gathers in front of the Corporate 5K Trophy.

The highly anticipated return of our MetroWest Corporate 5K to Marlborough on May 18th was a huge success: Over 200 participants mingled, raced and helped raise over $26,000 for critical United Way programs and services.

Boston Scientific, up against 21 other teams, won the coveted Corporate 5K cup that Intel had claimed in the past two races. The Marlborough-based biomedical/biotechnology company was a proud gold sponsor alongside Web Industries and now enjoys bragging rights until next year's race.

It was an energetic atmosphere on Rawlins Avenue, where the race started and ended outside our Marlborough Community Cupboard. We loved all the camaraderie and friendly competition.

Representing at more than 50-strong, St. Mary's Credit Union, a silver sponsor, took the prize for biggest team. Web Industries was awarded best t-shirt design. And big congratulations go out to our individual winners: Jim Fisk, Aly Comeau and Parker Veideman.

Thanks to all our incredibly generous sponsors, including Wegmans, Murata Power Solutions, Sterling Construction, Avidia Bank, Smarter Healthcare Partners, BBB Boston, Sunovion Pharmaceuticals and Sugar Etc. Bake Shop. The event featured music by DJ Todd Entertainment, a photo booth sponsored by Alltown Fresh, beer from Flying Dreams Brewing Co. and flatbread from Rail Trail Flatbread Co.

And thank you to the City of Marlborough for hosting and supporting the race, which raised money for hunger relief, early literacy and suicide prevention. Our last Corporate 5K was in 2019, pre-COVID.
