On Monday, Feb. 12, Gov. Maura Healey will join Mass211, the United Way of Tri-County, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), state legislators and local officials in celebrating 211 Day in Massachusetts. An informative ceremony will be broadcast live on Facebook from MEMA's headquarters in Framingham, highlighting Mass211's role in helping Massachusetts residents find assistance with everything from accessing food, housing or childcare to what to do in a natural disaster.
 
The live broadcast will start at 11:00 a.m. on Feb. 12 on Mass211's Facebook page (facebook.com/MA211). Gov. Healey will join via a pre-recorded video message, and Senate President Karen Spilka, D-Ashland, will speak about the value of residents being able to find answers by simply dialing 211.
 
The ceremony will include an overview of how to access Mass211's database through the website: mass211.org. Using Mass211's newly enhanced HELPSteps search tools, users can enter a zipcode and find local resources for:

  • Education
  • Elder care
  • Escaping violence
  • Fitness
  • Food
  • Goods
  • Housing
  • Income/financial assistance
  • LGBTQ 
  • Legal aid

Trained Information & Referral Specialists at Mass211 and call-takers at Mass211's mental health/emotional support helpline, Call2Talk, answered more than half a million total calls in 2023. Dial 2-1-1 from any landline or cell phone in Massachusetts to reach Mass211. Call2Talk, a suicide prevention program and 988 call center, can be reached at 211 ext. 25 or by dialing 988.
