Tools for School: Hearing From Our Clients

Tools for School is a collaborative effort between UWTC, area businesses, community agencies, individuals, and volunteers to provide backpacks and school supplies to low-income families for the upcoming school year. For over 25 years this program has been providing local youth with all the supplies they need to be successful on their first day of school and throughout the year. We team up with over 30 companies and 13 community partner agencies, as well as many individual donors and volunteers to make this program a success and our partnerships continue to expand. Over the past two years we have provided almost 2,000 backpacks full of supplies to children from kindergarten to high school.

"Hi, my name is Mila. I live in Milford with my 14-year-old daughter. For the past 3 years my daughter has been attending the Milford Youth Center. We are fortunate that the MYC partners with the United Way of Tri-Country to provide backpacks for the kids here through the Tools for School program. This program helps a lot. My daughter got a very nice book bag and she was very happy with it. This really helps me during back to school season, as money is tight. Since we have been a part of this program it has made my life much easier and I just want to say keep up the great work, lots of families need it and I think you guys are awesome."
