Hope for the Holidays Brings Joy to Nearly 2,000 Children

This holiday season, United Way of Tri-County’s Hope for the Holidays program brought warmth, joy, and a sense of belonging to children and families across our community. What began as a shared goal to make the holidays brighter for local kids, became a powerful example of what’s possible when a community comes together.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, partners, and volunteers, 1,971 children received three or more meaningful gifts to open during the holidays. From toys and books to clothing and essential items, each gift was thoughtfully selected to bring smiles, comfort, and a reminder that they are cared for.

The program supported 27 partner agencies, helping them meet the increased needs of the families they serve during one of the most demanding times of the year. In addition, 271 local companies and community members sponsored children, made monetary donations, and organized toy drives, rallying support in hands-on and impactful ways.

This effort was made possible by the dedication of volunteers who contributed 354 hours of service. From sorting and packing to assembling gift packages, their behind-the-scenes work ensured every child received a carefully prepared holiday experience.

Because of this collective effort, nearly 2,000 children experienced the magic of the season ,and a powerful reminder that their community believes in them. Hope for the Holidays is more than a gift program; it’s a reflection of compassion, collaboration, and the true spirit of the holidays.
